The Guildhall, High Street, Worcester is the venue for the 55+ and Retirement Roadshow. For those with satnav, the postcode is WR1 2EY. The show opens at 9-30 and closes at 3-30.
The historic, cathedral city of Worcester has been a location for trade and commerce since Roman times.Today the city has a population of around 93,300 and, as the county town, Worcester is the main centre within Worcestershire for administrative services and jobs, shopping and tourism.
Worcester is an excellent location at the heart of a beautiful county, with good connections by road and rail to Birmingham, the South West and London, it is an excellent location to live and work.
It's a little known fact that Worcester's beautiful Guildhall has received its fair share of Royal patronage over its long history; many will remember Queen Elizabeth II's visits in 2001 and 2012 but how about King George III on a sunny day in August 1788?
Along with Queen Charlotte and three of the princesses, he pronounced the Assembly Room - now a function/meeting room - on the top floor of The Guildhall - 'a handsome gallery' and drank a toast to 'prosperity to the city and the Corporation of Worcester'.
The portrait of the King - still hanging in the Assembly Room today - was presented by him to the city to commemorate his visit.
When out and about promoting this show, there has been a great deal of interest in the forthcoming changes to the state pension and also the relaxation of rules on how people take their pensions.
So, I am pleased to say that we have Paul Hays from The Pensions Advisory Service down from London again to answer the many queries about state and occupational schemes.
In addition we also have 2plan Wealth Management Ltd., a Malvern based business of financial advisers who have won awards and also have been BBC Hereford and Worcester Radio's financial voice for over 10 years.
If you have a query with Tax, come along and speak to Tax Help for Older People as they will be available to deal with any queries on this subject.
These stands are usually very busy so do come early and book your space if you want to speak with someone in particular.
By popular request from foodies everywhere, The Pie Sty will be outside The Guildhall with their delicious range of real country cooking.
They are serving bacon rolls in the morning and hot pork rolls at lunchtime, plus tea, coffee, cold drinks. Their fabulous home made pies will be on sale for you to take home and enjoy.
The nearest parking is in the Copenhagen Street Car park - (postcode WR1 2HB). To find out more please follow this link .
Finally, The Guildhall itself is a wonderful building and one which the citizens of Worcester are justifiably proud so, if you haven't been before, do plan enough time to take in the wonderful paintings, collections and amazingly decorated ceilings on display.
