Guildford

Holy Trinity Church, 5 High Street

Sat 21st September 2019

Guildford

Guildford is a market town situated on the banks of the River Wey and is the county town of Surrey. It has a rich history with a Castle which dates back to 1066, a Cathedral built in 1927 and a museum which hosts a wide range of topics for visitors to enjoy.

The Venue

Holy Trinity Church, 5 High Street, is the venue for the next 55+ and Retirement Roadshow to be held on Saturday 21 September 2019 from 9-30am until 2-30pm.

Holy Trinity is a Georgian church in the Palladian style, designed by James Horne of London and built by John Garton of Guildford in the 1750s. It was finished in 1763. The church was probably founded in the 10th century. The medieval church was destroyed when the tower collapsed in 1740 during improvements.

Holy Trinity is an excellent location being Guildford's civic church, where the installation of each new Mayor and the town's annual Act of Remembrance is celebrated plus also serving as the venue for regular musical events.

The town has retained its importance as a communication hub and market town nowadays, and gained a contemporary cathedral, modern university, world-class sports facilities and extensive shopping and commercial developments.

We are very pleased to welcome The Right Worshipful the Mayor and Mayoress of Guildford, Councillor Richard and Mrs Lynda Billington will be touring the stands and chatting to our exhibitors and visitors.
